Being a City fan, and I was going home and away during the King Kev era, I can understand the Newcastle fans dismay. You can say what you like about Keegan, he does however inspire players and fans to “believe”. Which when you support a none top 4 team, or as in the case when Keegan came to City a none premiership team is the dream you all buy in to!! Football will miss him if he has gone for good.

Really cant see him getting another job after this. Yes i think your right about making players belive and did really well at City....talking of city i wonder how long Mark Hughes will be there for until the Arab decides to get Jose....

You have to feel for the guy though. He is brought in as manager, and then they appoint Dennis Wise as director of football, even without him knowing (apparently)
As a manager, if you are constantly having to have your ideas, theories and plans reviewed, discussed and approved by someone with less experience than you... its got to be a difficult situation. Now I'm not anti Dennis Wise, and in fact, I felt really sorry for Leeds when they had that -15 point start last term, and think he did a fantastic job until he was poached (opps sorry, can't say that!) swapped to director of football at Newcastle, but I felt the writing was on the wall for Keegan, the moment it happened. If anything I'm surprised he lasted this long. As for the clause, yes I understand Tony you are right, but it makes you wonder how much pressure Ashton knew would be placed on Keegan if he did this.

well i would have thought Keegan was well aware of the clause firstly when he signed and also when he resigned....
As for Wise well that was a strange one as he and Poyet were doing ok at Leeds.. Cant see him or Poyet getting the job though

You are right Tony, last year when “we were top of the league. I say we are top of the league” Chelsea came and smacked us 6 – 0 (I think).
To change the subject Paul Merson is the best player I have ever watched live “apart from Gazza but that was on tv so doesn’t count” who is yours?

Now thats a difficult one..
I have been watching live footie for about 30 years..
When i was younger i used to idolise John Robertson who played left wing at Forest and scored the winning goal in the 1980 european cup final in Madrid (when the cup ment something and not as nowdays when you can win it after losing 3 or 4 games) Kevin Beattie at Ipswich was another great player who would have played plenty more games for England if he wasnt so injury prone Stan Bowles, Tony Currie, Frank Worthington all 10 million pound players if they were around today. As for more recent players.....ZOLA, CANTONA, DEL PIERO, all great but the list could go on.....
