Default Sundays Premier League round-up:

Premier League round-up as Arsenal thump West Ham, Stoke held at home by Burnley (April 22 2018)

A late flurry of goals gave Arsenal a flattering 4-1 win over West Ham at the Emirates, while Stoke were held at home by Burnley.

Premier League scores

Arsenal 4-1 West Ham
Stoke 1-1 Burnley
Man City 4-0 Swansea (and still playing)

A late three-goal burst at the Emirates gave Arsene Wenger something to smile about as Arsenal secured a flattering 4-1 win over West Ham.

After a forgettable first half Nacho Monreal volleyed Arsenal ahead but Marko Arnautovic rifled in a deserved equaliser for the Hammers who matched the hosts for most of the match.

West Ham's resilience came crashing down around them eight minutes from time when Aaron ramsey's tame cross from the left floated into the far corner after Declan Rice inexplicably ducked underneath the ball - apparently hearing a shout from Joe Hart.

David Moyes' men crumbled in the dying minutes as Alexandre Lacazette fired in a late double to add a flattering gloss on the scoreline.

Arsenal moved four points ahead of Burnley after the Clarets came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Stoke, while West Ham can still not rest easy as they sit just six points above the relegation zone with four games left to play.

Arsenal v West Ham Match Stats

Arsenal have won six consecutive home matches in all competitions, netting at least three goals in each victory (20 goals in total).

Arsene Wenger has beaten David Moyes in 22 matches in all competitions – more than he has beaten any other manager during his time as Arsenal boss.

Moyes is winless in all 18 of his away matches against Arsenal in all competitions (D4 L14).

Nacho Monreal has scored three goals in his last seven Premier League appearances – as many as he had in his first 153 appearances in the competition.

Marko Arnautovic has had a hand in 14 goals in his last 16 Premier League appearances (10 goals, 4 assists).

Stoke closer to relegation after Burnley draw.

Relegation now looks like being a mere formality for Stoke after they let the lead slip and they're running out of time to save themselves from the drop.

Potters boss Paul Lambert had targeted three wins from their last four games to ensure their 10-year stay in the top flight continued but, with a trip to Liverpool to come next weekend followed by matches against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace and Swansea, that now appears hugely unlikely.

There was again no shortage of effort from the hosts, who have not won since Lambert's first game in January, and they deserved the lead given to them by Badou Ndiaye's first goal for the club in the 11th minute.

But Ashley Barnes scored a scrappy equaliser 17 minutes after half-time and Stoke had to settle for a 1-1 draw that leaves them four points adrift of safety.

While Burnley are still looking at European qualification, Stoke remain second bottom and while four points from safety they have having also played more games than those above them and have a much worse goal difference.

Stoke v Burnley Match Stats

Stoke have now gone 11 league games without a win (D6 L5), their joint-longest ever run without a victory in the Premier League having also gone 11 matches without winning between April and September 2012.
Burnley have lost only two of the last seven Premier League games in which they have conceded the first goal (W2 D3), having lost each of the seven beforehand.
The Clarets have only kept one clean sheet in 15 league games in 2018; only Brighton (none) have kept fewer in the Premier League this calendar year so far.
Ashley Barnes has scored six goals in his last eight league games, as many as his previous 44 combined.
