Lets all play the roulette machines
LADBROKES on Thursday announced a 19.2 per cent boost from gambling machines, which triggered a £193.5 million full year operating profit for the company.
The firm reported an operating profit fall of 4.3per cent (from £202.3 million in 2010), but the numbers beat City expectations. The average forecast had been £187 million, according to a Thomson Reuters poll of 15 analysts. Revenue, which, like profits excludes high rollers, grew by 0.4 per cent at £980.3 million. Gross win, total bets minus payouts, from machines rose by 19.2 per cent to £360.9 million. Chief executive Richard Glynn said: "The contribution frommachines has been excellent and we have grown profit per shop for a second consecutive year despite a comparatively poor gross win margin in the second half of 2011 and continued cost pressures." What sick gambling addicted members do to themselves!!!

I'm not sure bit i've heard the machines are about 80% of their turnover now

Next they will be putting in Pac Man machines...  Their roulette machines are the biggest CON ever.... Just waiting for the day this is exposed and that will be the end of High Strret bookmakers...

I had an encounter the other day with a mad man playing these machines. In the bookies waiting for a horse race to start,thought I would have a tenner in the machine while waiting to see my horse lose, put note in and this guy shouts at me, Im playing that machine m8, doesnt look that way to me I replied. He wasnt even near the machine,he rolls over [big fat guy] and says look at the balance, Theres £1810 on the display, I never noticed that when i put my tenner in I said, so I suggest he gives me a tenner and I will put it in the next machine,he only has another £1200 balance on that one too, nevermind I thought , not really arsed anyway, just give me my tenner back and i wont bother playing on them, he replies he has no money on him and I will have to wait till he cashes out of machine,3 spins later he down to £500 in both machines,he lost £2k in a few minutes, he cashed out gave me a tenner and left bookies crying. couldnt believe what i witnessed.
