2009 US open golf selections

Starting tomorrow and this is a very hard course with tight fairways and very quick greens.......

The weather forecast isnt good with heavy rain and storms forecast and it could end up being a survival of the fittest.....:eek!:

TIGER is the obvious choice on a course hes already won on but i just cant back him at around 15/8......:h?:

Heres who i think can give us some intrest for the four days......:brains:

ZACH JOHNSON (70/1 HILLS).....Nice ball striker and good putter who won well at Augusta a couple of years ago and is a solid player...If he gets off to a decent start i think hes a major contender to record hid second major...e/w 1/5 odds top six looks good.

STEVE STRICKER (40/1 HILLS)...Been around the top 10 now for a while without really winning a big one.....another who will be steady and handles the pressure of being in contention down the stretch. This could be vital here and hes a decent price.

HUNTER MAHON (66/1 Gen).....A player ive been tipping for major glory for a couple of seasons.....so far has under achieved but another whos game will suit this course and another whos great e/w value.

BEN CURTIS (125/1 HILLS)...Went quiet after winning our open a few years ago but i think hes coming back into form and will drive the ball straight and also putts well....Could well win but a solid e/w bet.

MARTIN KAYMER (150/1 GEN)...A better player then his ranking and i think hes not far away from breaking into the upper ranks of the ratings. Can put four rounds together under pressure and another great e/w price.

Lets hope we have a good run and im sure this will be four superb days of golf for us to watch.....

All days live on SKY SPORTS.......

Good luck with those PT......Should be a great tournement..

Although they set up the courses to be nearly impossible......;)

Part-Timer June 17th, 2009 18:10

If Cabrera drives well distance is no problem to him, he will either be top ten or miss the cut.

Haha....i really couldnt get into this as there were too many breaks and 2am finishes..:eek!:

Most of my selections were on the plane home after 2 rounds and my only runner Hunter Mahon really had a great chance but not birdiying 13 and hitting the stick at 16 before three putting ended his chances...:'D:'D

Slight loss for me....

Roll on The British Open.....8-P
