Against most so called experts opinions my first selection to win the 2010 world cup is...
FRANCE @ 22/1... Of course they were lucky to get this far with a handled goal against the Republic Of Ireland in the playoff maych but... They have a very decent squad with three of the back four from Arsenal and of course a couple from Chelsea including Nicola Anelka who is an improved all round player over the last couple of years.. A decent midfield and with Henry up front i feel they will not leak many goals and could well make the final which will give us half odds of 11/1....8-P The second selection is... ARGENTINA @ 8/1 Now Maradonna has used over 100 players since taking over a couple of years agao and although he hasnt always got it quite right they have looked like a team thats improving and with argueably the world greatest player in Messi im sure they will take some stopping.. They are always there or there abouts comre the last four and i think they will be a big threat to all....:brains: I fancy the South American teams to come to the fore and MEXICO and CHILE will be teams that will win matches and at decent odds ...So these will be worth following in singles and doubles through the group stages.. Onto Englands chances....:eek!: Well if they make the semis i think thats a result for them... I just dont think we have a good enough team to compete when the going gets tough and of course we tend to conceed at least one goal a game which in the worl cup isnt whats needed to win.... Anyway we can keep up with things on this thread and im sure a few of us can win some cash over the next month....B (: |

I have £200 to play with for the world cup,got off to a bad start with £40 on mexico to beat south africa @ 6/4,I have £10 on sidney govou @ 9/1 first scorer for france tonight.
I have Chile each way at 80/1,I have chile each way at 66/1 and finally I have chile each way at 50/1 I have the dutch to win at 12/1 I have Messi as top scorer @ 9/1 Think Spain are deserved favourites and 4/1 looks good value to me as they have good players in every position, I just hope Chile win,it will get me about £4k |

URAGUAY and GHANA.. Both teams a little fortunate to get this far but now they both have nothing to lose.. Todays quarter final thoughts....
ARGENTINA V GERMANY 3pm Argentina were my pick from the start and im more confident now then i was at the start.. The Germans will be on a high after knocking out England but i feel their world cup will end here. Argentina look great going forward and maybe shakey at the back but they score plenty and that will be enough to see them through comfortably....:brains: Bet advised... ARGENTINA HT/FT @ 3/1 ARGENTINA 3-0 @ 22/1 ARGENTINA 3-1 @ 16/1 This evenings match sees SPAIN V PARAGUAY. Spain started poorly with a defeat by the Swiss but have looked fairly good since although Torres hasnt really found form yet his strike partner David Villa has and looks the bigger goal threat tonight. Paraguay like to play tight but can attack when needed although i think they will try to play on the counter here..
