Default Accenture matchplay golf....Today

At last the golfing season kicks off with the Accenture World Matchplay a tournement that has the top 64 players taking part and after 8 mounths away from the game sees the return of......The Tiger...

Seeded one and priced at around 11/2 he could be worth a few quid but i think he might just be easing himself back in playing this tourny and i think we should get better value elsewhere.....

I will take a more in depth look at this later this morning and let you know my thoughts...

Anyones opinions will be welcomed as im sure were in for some good golfing action over the next 5 days...

All days live on Sky sports starting at 7pm tonight .

Todays 32 games start at 2pm so make sure you get those bets on by then as many bookies close the overall markets at that time and the reasess the prices after day one...

Default After taking a look...

There are a few tricky first round games...

I like the look of HENDRIK STENSON at around 20/1.....although he has a tough first round match against Davis Love

STEVE STRICKER 50/1 has been finding some good form over the last few tournements and looks to have a good chance of getting to the semis at least (10/1 to make the semis)

MIKE WEIR 50/1 has always been a fair matchplay player and another who has a tricky first round game against Hunter Nahon. He is in Tigers section so they could meet in the semis.....maybe the 16/1 to make the semi final is a fair price.

SEAN O'HAIR 90/1 is a player who has looked like he can live with the big boys of this game but so far has fallen a little short....a very good player who i think could suprise over the next few days...20/1 to make the semis looks too big.

I think a small acca on these players for their first round matches and som small single bets could give us a nice run for our money..

Default First day report...

Unfortunatly we lost two of our picks both going down by a one hole margin.

Hendrik Stenson lost to Davis Love 111 on the 3rd extra hole which was a little disapointing as he was 2 up with two to play until Love birdied 17 and 18 to take the match into extra holes.

Stenson holed a 15 footer at the second extra hole to keep the game alive but on the 3rd extra hole took a five to Loves four and the Dane was gone.

Mike Wier is also out beaten in a very close match by Hunter Mahon by just the one hole....

Better news for the other two though..

Steve Stricker got past Johnson by 2&1 and looked fairly comftable and

Sean O'Hair edged out Adam Scott by one hole in what was a good victory over one of the fancied players....

Today Stricker plays Ernie Els and

O'Hair plays Bo Weekley....

Default Thanks Lee...

Hopefully we will....we did ok last year with quite a few of us picking some good winners...

Only SEAN O'HAIR left for us now after Strickers loss yesterday to Els.

O'Hair plays Poulter today in what should be another close game.

Hopefully O'Hair can get through the next two games to land the 20/1 bet of making the semis.....and then the 90/1 to win outright.....

Default O'Hair beats Poulter 2&1...

To advance to the 1/4 final where he will play the in form Paul Casey...

If he can overcome Casey the 20/1 is bet is landed and then hopefully he can go through to Sundays final and land the 90/1 outright bet....

Casey should be a hard nut to crack as he has won all his games this week fairly easily but O'Hair has played great as well and in my opinion beaten tougher opponents...

Default O'Hair comes up short..

Sean O'Hair failed to make the semi finals when he went out to Paul Casey 4&3....

Casey won three of the first four holes and after that it was an uphill struggle for O'Hair against one of the best matchplay players arounf.

Casey then defeated Fisher in the semis and will meet Geoff Olgilvy in the 36 hole final..

Both players now live in Arizona and play lots of practice round together so we should be in for a close but exciting game which i think Casey should win and take the Brit to be victorious 5&4......
