Plucky Man United promise to give it their ‘best shot’ against Northampton
Manchester United to take on Northampton Town Manchester United have promised to give it everything they’ve got as they attempt to pull off a shock win against Northampton Town in the EFL trophy tonight. (Wednesday) Despite suffering three straight defeats, United will be hoping to pull off the shock of the round against the Cobblers. “All we can do is give 100 percent and hope Northampton have an off day,” said Man United captain Wayne Rooney. Northampton manager Rob Page said his side won’t underestimate the opposition as they look to overcome what some consider to be a potential banana skin. “We won’t take anything for granted against Man United,” he insisted. “I’ve instilled in the players the importance of staying focused and professional, as well as warning them it would be fuc'king embarrassing if we got beat.”
