Default Rangers v Zenit St Petersburg

I have no real interest in this game, other than the fact it is the UEFA Cup final and is much preferable to watch than the dross my worse half normally subjects me to on a Wednesday evening, but listening to the "big match" build up on the radio this morning, plus reading up a little on the stats and facts of the two teams, I came across an interesting little bet via the SP website i often use.....

Bet on 0-0 scoreline at 90 minutes (7/1 generally)

with stake savers on :

first goal between 61-70 minutes (16/1)
first goal between 71 -80 minutes (18/1)
first goal between 81-90 minutes (22/1)

Essentially, all signs point to this game being a fairly dour struggle, with both teams liking to counter attack but their emphasis firmly on keeping the back door shut. Zenit's top goalscorer is out of the game, and their 4-0 drubbing of Bayern in the second leg of the semi was apparently because Bayern played right into their hands by attacking left, right n centre, and Zenit picked them off with their counter attacks.

Rangers are not high scorers, even domestically, and the theory is that as long as the game stays goalless for an hour, we collect. The savers are placed as the longer the game goes on more mistakes, tiredness comes into play, and a possible late set piece goal or counter attack goal could seal it one way or the other.

It *seems* a good, logical bet to me....with obvious value. Though ive refrained so far....thoughts???

Default Tonights match.....

Rangers have produced some superb performances to get to this final but Zenith are no mugs and in my opinion the hardest team that Rangers have played yet.

I think you are right it will be a close game, these sort of finals always are as no one wants to be the first to conceed but i think that Zenith will prove just too strong and maybe 2-0 or 3-1 might be nearer the score at the end of 90 mins....

As for the league its Rangers to lose and i think that if this game doesnt go to pens then they have a great chance of winning the league if it does then that could be against Rangers as i think they will then struggle in their remaining games...

it would be an absolute injustice if rangers were to win this

they have been absolutly awful to watch throughout the tourny, away to bremen and fiorentina were the 2 most one sided games u will ever see, they were battered for 90 mins in both games

goalkeeper got them thru vs bremen and cueller got them thru vs fiorentina

zenit have put out very good teams along the way and should take care of a rangers side who are virtually running on empty

zenit to lift the trophy @ 1.63..................WINNER

zenit to win 2-0, 3-0 or 3-1 @ combined odds of 5/1....................WINNER

zenit to win the corner count -2 @ 2.05 (NAP)......................WINNER

rangers will defiantly play with 1 striker and 9 defenders and do their best to make it once again an awful ootball match to watch

and just incase zenit cant break them down im going for a saver bet zenit to win it in extra time @ 11/1

also in the play offs

hull vs watford to finsh with 2-3 goals @ 1.90
