Default David Moyes on a roll

David Moyes nets second win

David Moyes secures his second pre-season win as Sunderland boss, plus victories for Southampton, Crystal Palace and Swansea.

David Moyes secured his second pre-season win in charge of Sunderland with a 3-2 victory over Dijon on Wednesday.

The Premier League side got the perfect start when teenage striker Joel Asoro opened the scoring after 15 minutes, but Dylan Bahamboula equalised for the Ligue 1 new-boys shortly after half time.

An end-to-end encounter saw Wahbi Khazri's 58th-minute strike cancelled out by Jeremie Bela, before Fabio Borini converted a late penalty to seal the win for the Black Cats.

Southampton's tour of the Netherlands continued with a 2-1 win over FC Twente.

Virgil van Dijk, captaining the side, put the Saints in front with a back-post volley from Dusan Tadic's cross.

Sam Gallagher doubled their advantage when he rose highest to bundle home, and Peet Bijen's neat finish for Twente with 15 minutes remaining proved a consolation for the Dutch side.

Crystal Palace preserved their unbeaten pre-season record with a 3-2 win over AFC Wimbledon at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Luke Taylor equalised for the Sky Bet League One side after Connor Wickham edged Palace ahead, sending the two teams in at half-time level.

Alan Pardew's side seemingly had the game under control following second-half goals by Yannick Bolasie and Freddie Ladapo, but AFC Wimbledon were handed a lifeline when Pape Souare nodded past his own goalkeeper.

However, Palace saw out the final stages for their third pre-season win, with Fulham up next on Saturday.

Swansea also chalked up their third win of pre-season with a 3-0 triumph over Sky Bet League One side Swindon Town at the County Ground.

Francesco Guidolin made eight changes after a goalless first-half and the Premier League side burst into life, with Modou Barrow the star of the show.

The Gambia international set up goals for Andre Ayew and Jay Fulton before finding the net himself in a one-sided second half.
