. DAILY MIRROR Arsenal are lining up Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette as a £60million potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, but face opposition from Liverpool. Liverpool are ready to go toe to toe with some of Europe's top clubs as they look to make a major summer transfer splash. The Reds recognise they will need to bring in five or six high-quality signings for next season if they qualify for the Champions League, and have identified some of the continent's most wanted - including Lacazette and midfielder Naby Keita of Germany's RB Leipzig. Daniel Sturridge could be among the first sold if the Reds do make a string of signings. The Anfield club turned down loan requests for the striker in January, with Paris Saint-Germain West Ham keen to borrow him short-term with a view to a permanent transfer. Manchester United's ex-England midfielder Michael Carrick says he will probably retire as a player if he's not offered a new contract when his current deal runs out at the end of the season at Old Trafford. Everton boss Ronald Koeman is considering a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this summer. THE SUN Manchester United have reportedly held talks with super-agent Mino Raiola over a deal for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Marouane Fellaini tried to secure a move to the Chinese Super League last week - according to Fabio Cannavaro Borussian Dortmund duo Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic claim they both rejected Liverpool in 2016. Manchester United are ready to pay off Wayne Rooney this summer - and allow him to join another English club on a free transfer.
