Default World Cup of Darts....

The world cup of darts kicked off last night with England being the hot favs to lift the title once again...

Phil "The Power" Taylor and James "The Machine" Wade made up Englands team and the rest of the world were playing fort second...

The worlds number one and two players had a very easy assignment in the first round playing a couple of waiters from Spain...

It must be the words "World Cup" that have that strange effect on English teams as they managed to LOSE....

6-5.....to exit the competition in the FIRST round.........

It was said afterwards that this result was the biggest upset in darts ever...

I wouldnt be having too much on Phil Taylor lifting the Sports Personality award after this display...

I certainly was drowning my sorrows at Kempton yesterday after watching a very feeble display by Messers Taylor and Wade.

Give credit where it was due to the Spanish pair as Spain went into the game with nothing to lose and everything to gain especially as both Rodriguez and Alcinas are both outside the top 32 in the world rankings and this should have been a walkover in all fairness for England but Taylor was far from impressive at the Grand Slam of Darts and certainly is not in great form at the moment and you have to question Wade's state of mind after losing the GSOD final in spectacular fashion!.

Last year i was rather happy as i put a £2.50 ew bet on Simon Whitlock at 80/1 to make the final of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship and this year im going to have a couple of e/w outsiders to try and make the final:

Wayne Jones.................................100/1

Mark Webster....................................66/1
