Default But this was my biggest ever.....

Looser......

This horse broke the 5f course record for the FINAL 5f of the Derby trip....

Greville Starkey never rode it again and will always be remembered for his ride on Dancing Brave in the Derby then for anything else...

The same season he won the Arc with Pat Eddery up at 13/8....

Here is the two races....

Great ride by Starkey, guess which horse I backed Can you find the 85 Lincoln that Cataldi won. Had £50 e/w at 16's, won by 10 lengths I think. Bought a St Bernard dog and paid some of my tax bill plus a few with the winnings

Default Pt ??

Wasn't it "Cataldi"
trained by Guy Harwood and ridden by G Starkey..had a low draw on the far side (not favoured draw)...always up with the pace and just drew away in the last furlong

hmmmm

Don't remember it

...Happy Days
I was on as well, Starkey told my mate 3 days before the race, "the horse is is like a grenade ready to go off" and it did !!

It was a pacemaker for Harwoods horse in the 84 Champion Stakes race, came 4th and the winner broke the track record. Originally allocated 8 st 6 or 7. Laddies had it a 20's when the book opened, I went down with my £100 and waited for it to open. Wrote my bet out handed over and was told it was only 16's. That cost me £250, but still won £1k, a lot of money then.
