Default Chico Flores a cheat ?

Hammers wait on Carroll appeal

West Ham should discover by Tuesday evening whether or not Andy Carroll will be banned for three games after appealing to the Football Association following the striker's sending-off against Swansea.

The Hammers on Monday formally notified the FA of their intention to appeal against Carroll's dismissal for an altercation with Swansea defender Chico Flores and now have until 1pm on Tuesday to submit evidence in their bid to have his automatic suspension overturned.

An independent three-person panel is poised to hear the case on Tuesday afternoon, with their judgement expected later in the day.

Carroll was shown a straight red card by referee Howard Webb in the second half of the Hammers' 2-0 win and video footage of the incident, as well as written evidence from the Hammers and match officials, will be assessed.

A three-match suspension would rule Carroll out for the rest of February and matches with Aston Villa, Norwich and Southampton.

The 25-year-old made just his third start of the season following a heel injury and set up both goals for Kevin Nolan in the 2-0 victory.

Hammers manager Sam Allardyce declared his intention to contest Carroll's dismissal after the match and was critical of Flores.

Allardyce said: "We will hope that the appeal will work. Hopefully we don't lose Andy for three games.

"He's gutted. He's absolutely beside himself. We'll just have to go through the process and see what happens in midweek.

"All I can hope is that the panel, in the cold light of day, see it for what it is.

"He (Webb) can't be absolutely certain of what's happened, except that Chico Flores is over-exaggerating, which is generally the norm for him, unfortunately."

To be honest in todays game there are plenty of cheats trying to get one over on officials...

If its not trying to get penalties that arnt or trying to get others booked or even worse getting them sent off by faining injury its consistant barracking of refs....

The games not what it used to be in the 70's or 80's when it was played by men who took a whack and just got up and gave one back later.

Now they are mostly overpaid cry babies......

mmmm, he slung his arm around in an aggressive manner - red card imo, having said that, the rolling around holding your face act was disgusting.

Default Carroll loses appeal !!

What a joke !!!
There has been a three man FA panel watching the replay of the incident . I'll assume they were able to see the cheating 'Flores' going down and rolling about as if hit by an Exocet Missile ...
Thats what got Andy Carroll , sent off and now the ban has been upheld, does this mean Chico Flores will now get a three match ban !!!!!!

I don't blame the referee for making his first decision, although it was an overreaction, but i do blame this committee for not doing the one thing that makes this clear ..!! Cheating and diving is OK , no punishment ..

This stinks of corruption , in that the FA don't want to blame Howard Webb as he's one of their own ...

Football has become so corrupt in the cheating and diving, and it's become a money mule for big business ..

I have two words for this final committee decision .. DISGRACEFUL and CORRUPT

The FA were always going to side with Howard Webb as hes the representative for this country at the world cup.

The FA and Webb will be off to Brazil next week for a jolly boys so nothing surprises me ......
