Default Halfway report

36 holes gone and what a championship we have.....two unknowns leading after round one but after yesterday normal service has resumed with TIGER only one off the lead...

Still up for grabs and anyone +4 or shorter must still fancy they can be lifting the trophy come Sunday evening.

Our selections are still there and hopefully one will come through to win us some of the bookies money..

STUART APPELBEY... -3 and leading

TIGER WOODS...-2 tied 2nd

ERNIE ELS... Even par and tied 9th

VILLEGAS.... +2 and tied 16th

HARRINGTON... +3 and tied 22nd after shooting the lowest round yesterday.

MICKELSON..... +4 and still just in it

Cant wait for round three to start.....good luck...

Default I had a saver on ...........

Westwood @ 22/1 and also had £4 e/w on Harrington before yesterdays round at 100/1

Woods is now the 5/4 fav and i got him at just over 7/2 and again at nearly 7/1 so im.....UNLOADING @ 5/4....

Still think its up for grabs but WOODS @ 5/4 isnt a good bet so im happy to lay off.....

If anyone is backing today post your selections..

Default just backed

romero @ 128.00 for £8

davis love III @ 42.00 for £5.00

donald @ 25.00 for £5.00

for a longshot i have backed verplank @ 210.00 for £2.00, 5 shots off the lead, but after seeing jimenez have a 9 shot swing from round one (+4) to round 2 (-5) then anything can happen

What did i say? Prophet of doom or what. Welcome to Round 3 Mr Appleby. 4 putting the 5th green....unforgivable that.

Villegas giving me a great run for my money at 125/1.

Had £50 on Garcia to win @ 22 and £25 @ 3.3 top 10. Looked bad after round 1. Had £15.05 @ 95 to win and £25 @ 4.3 top 10 today. Just laid £49.92 @ 2.5 and £20 @ 2.56 top 10 and £50 @ 29 and £5.50 @ 30 to win. If Garcia wins I win £529.11, 43p if he doesn't. If top 10 I win £32.33 if not I win £ 18.98. Come on Garcia

Default It should be Woods now...

Another superb round by Tiger has put him into poll position to win the US Open.
Two eagles coming in gives him a one shot lead over our own Lee Westwood with just 18 holes left to play....

Thank god Woods has got knee trouble otherwise this would have been over and we would have nothing to watch just a Woods stroll round to take the trophy.

But there are still some big names lurking and a few mistakes from the greatest golfer ever and these guys will take advantage.

Woods has never won a major not leading going into the last round and after the first nine holes yesterday he looked like he was going to have to break that hoodo.

Quite a few players wilted under the pressure of being in contention, first Appelby drifted off the top them Mediate droped a couple and players like Karleson,Love and Els all went the wrong way..

Garcia showed why hes one of the best around shooting another 70 to put himself right back in contention, Westwood has his best ever chance to win a major from just one back and of course theres the champion of two years ago Olgilvy still there with a chance.

Another ten or more players lurking within six shots of the lead and this should give us the entertaining finish we were all hoping for.... but now its Tigers to lose and all the punters who took the 7/2 pre tournement price or even the 7/1 after he double bogeyed his first hole on day one must be thinking the golfing gods are smiling on someone....
