Harry Kane was the familiar hero as his two late goals earned Tottenham a 2-1 win over PSV and kept their Champions League hopes alive.

Spurs' faltering Group B campaign looked like hitting a new low after Luuk de Jong put the Dutch side ahead after only a minute at Wembley, which left Mauricio Pochettino's men on the brink of being knocked out.

But Kane stood up when it mattered to rescue his side, equalising in the 78th minute and then being the beneficiary of an extremely kind deflection 11 minutes later to complete the turnaround.

The win, Spurs' first of the group stage, leaves them in third place, three points behind Inter Milan, who visit Wembley in three weeks.

They will need to win that game and will have to be more clinical than they were against PSV, who should have been put to bed long before Kane's late heroics.

Inter salvage point v Barcelona

In the other match in Group B, Inter Milan and Barcelona exchanged late goals in a 1-1 draw.

After Luis Suarez had seen a goal disallowed, Barca substitute Malcom grabbed the opener in the 83rd minute when his low drive beat goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, but they were pegged back when Mauro Icardi fired home.
Napoli move level with Liverpool

Napoli moved level with Group C leaders Liverpool after coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Paris St Germain in their Champions League clash at the Stadio San Paolo.

Following the English club's surprise 2-0 defeat away at Red Star Belgrade earlier on Tuesday, both teams were looking to capitalise and boost hopes of qualification for the knockout stage.

PSG, who are just a point behind in third place, took the lead in first-half stoppage time through Juan Bernat.

However, Napoli rallied following the restart, forcing veteran Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon into a string of fine saves before Lorenzo Insigne eventually levelled things up from the penalty spot.

The Serie A side, though, could not conjure a winner, with Kylian Mbappe firing a late chance wide for the visitors.

Thierry Henry remains without a win since taking charge of Monaco after they were beaten 4-0 at home by Club Brugge in Group A.

Hans Vanaken scored twice in the space of five first-half minutes to put the visitors firmly in control, and Wesley made it three with a superb curling shot to put the game beyond the Ligue 1 strugglers before half-time.

Brugge skipper Ruud Vormer capped a fine display with a well-taken fourth late on.

Atletico Madrid gained revenge for their 4-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund a fortnight ago with a 2-0 victory at Wanda Metropolitano.

They opened the scoring when a pass from Filipe Luis was dummied by Angel Correa and Saul's scuffed shot deflected in off Manuel Akanji. Antoine Griezmann held off his marker to seal the three points with 10 minutes remaining.

Group D leaders Porto were comfortable 4-1 winners at home to Lokomotiv Moscow, with Hector Herrara giving Porto the lead after two minutes.

Moussa Marega made it two with a powerful run and finish but Lokomotiv Moscow pulled one back through substitute Jefferson Farfan's neat header.

Jesus Corona made the game safe for Porto and Monteiro Otavio added a fourth in stoppage time.

Schalke pulled clear in second place with a 2-0 win at home to Galatasaray.

Guido Burgstaller took advantage of a goalkeeping error from Fernando Muslera to curl in the opener after four minutes and Mark Uth made it 2-0 with a cool finish.
