Wink Icespire - (One for the notebook)

Icespire strikes on debut - (October 10 2016)

Icespire became the latest offspring of Frankel to make a winning debut when she came from last to first to land the Bathwick Tyres British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury.

There was plenty of stable confidence in the youngster, wearing the colours of her sire's owner Khalid Abdullah, and it was justified as she showed a touch of class, despite an inauspicious start.

Rab Havlin was in no hurry on the John Gosden-trained filly, who was wearing a hood, after she missed a beat coming out of the stalls.

Once she got into a rhythm, Havlin asked her to weave through the field which she did with the minimum of effort.

Soon in front, the 6-4 favourite won comfortably by four lengths from Mouille Point, with Crimson Lake a neck away in third.

"She just stood in the stalls. She was relaxed, but a month ago she was a bit of a handful," Havlin told Racing UK.

"She was the ultimate professional but when the gates opened she stood still, so I just took my time on her.

"She used to get on her toes a bit, but we've kept the same rider on her every day. She wears the hood at home every day and has been as good as gold on it.

"I rode her work on Friday and she felt classy and she gave me that feel here.

"She'll definitely get further. She's a lengthener and she settled into a rhythm really nicely.

"She's a big-framed filly and will be a lovely filly next year."

Default Cracksman

'Cracksman' first time out at Newmarket (Oct 19) in the "Breeders Supporting Racing EBF Maiden Stakes" became another Frankel youngster to follow.

Trained by John Gosden and ridden by Rab Havlin he was very impressive as he was held up, before making headway 3f out.

He took the lead approaching 2f out and ran on close home to win by 1& 1/4 lengths
__________________________________________________ ________________________________

His future could be the Derby ..

Cracksman become the latest colt sired by Frankel to receive a quote for the Investec Derby when completing a double for trainer John Gosden at Newmarket with victory in the Breeders Supporting Racing EBF Maiden Stakes.

With the likes of Atty Persse, Frankuus and the Anthony Oppenheimer-owned colt's stablemate Seven Heavens among the Frankel offspring already in the ante-post market for the Epsom showpiece, Cracksman added his name the list after a debut win in the mile prize.

Although being eyeballed late on by fellow newcomer Wild Tempest, the 9-2 winner showed his appetite for a battle to forge on and take the spoils by a length and a quarter.

He was introduced at 33-1 for the Derby by both Paddy Power and Bet Victor, with RaceBets going 40-1.

Gosden said: "He's next year's horse and that's it for this season.

"He's a grand horse and has done nothing but grow. He's still very unfurnished.

"He found himself in front too soon, but luckily he still won as he had the rail to run with.

"We'll go straight up to a mile and a quarter and that is where his strengths will lie. He gives me the feeling he's more of a mile-and-a-quarter horse and we could see him going for a nice conditions race at Newbury in the spring."

Cool Anti-post bet

Well in for a penny, in for a pound
I'm not one for anti-post betting but i'll never forgive myself if i don't do this one.
Three of the horses that i've been most impressed with over this last year are mentioned above and if they're as good as i thin they are , their prices will tumble in the early new year

Icespire - (33/1) -1000 Guineas

Cracksman - (25/1) -Investec Derby

Cliffs Of Dover - (20/1) -Triumph Hurdle - None Runner

. Singles + Each/Way Patent - Good luck peoples

A couple of Daryl Jacob mounts worth considering in the anti post Cheltenham markets

Top Notch: 25/1 each-way for the Arkle with Coral or Hills

Sceau Royal: 33/1 each-way for the Champion Hurdle with Bet365, Coral or Hills

Wow , you have to be impressed by 'Altior' 2/7fav, winning on his second race over the bigger obstacles at Sandown (Dec2nd)

Always travelling behind the pace in third of the four runners and with just one to jump, he cruised up to lead over the last and drew away for a very comfortable win ..
One for the Cheltenham Novice Chase

Default Beyond The Clouds

One for the notebook " Beyond The Clouds" trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by Brian Hughes won the NH Flat race at Musselburgh (Jan3rd)

Very impressive how he drew away in the home straight to win by 12 lengths on his debut. Sired by Peintre Celebre the Arc winner this gelding could be one for the Cheltenham Festival ..(Keep this fella onside)
