BLITZ the Masters
Tonight's Reading Masters looks on paper to be a cracker, with the absence of Blonde Dino after the debacle of the semi finals, this looks very open and you couldn't rule out any of the runners.
So were's the value ? Well in what will probably turn out to be a rough-house final with trouble at the 1st and 2nd bend im going with the youngster of the race "Blitz" T6 .This race will almost certainly be won around the first two bends by a dog with pace enough to avoid the trouble that there surly will be . The favouite Fear Haribo cannot make any mistakes at the traps, boxed in T3 with fast starters on his outside in Mulciar Joe T4 and Vipar Totti T5. There is also a case for Blonde Jeannie T2, she has not been fast out on her last two runs here but has shown great pace to the bend and has finished in great style, also Brickfield ClassT1 has pace to the bend but here lies the problem, with these five all with virtually the same run-up times, there has to be trouble, and the trusty pin comes down on the wide running T6 BLITZ to avoid all the trouble and be clear after the second bend, this youngster has the best run up time 5 46 and 5 43 over a length faster than all except Fear Haribo's last time of 5 49......3/4 length.. So with likely odds of around 5/1 there's plenty of value.... 4pts win T6....... 1pt rvse fcst each ..6 5 and 6 3 Last edited by bennythedip2; September 30th, 2007 at 15:44. |

All the way BLITZ
As predicted, it was "BLITZ" T6 trained by D R Stevenson , returned at 4/1 who stole the show in the Reading Masters. From the traps it was Blitz T6 in 28 03 keeping wide into the first bend as the carnage happened on his inside with four of his opponents getting crowded and baulked with Blonde JeanieT2 . 28 17 finishing 2nd and Fear Haribo 28 22 back in 3rd...distances 1 3/4 lgs and 1/2 lgs... .Blitz has improved with every race at this meeting and could be worth keeping on the right side off next year, still only 2yrs and 4 months old gives his owners something to look forward to in the year ahead..
