Default Review of Tuesdays Champion League action

A review of all Tuesday night's Champions League action.

Arsenal and Paris St Germain both won to progress from Champions League Group A, while Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich also took three points to seal the top two spots in Group D.

Atletico left it latest at the Vicente Calderon, Antoine Griezmann firing home his second goal in the third minute of stoppage time to see off battling Rostov 2-1.

The Frenchman had opened the scoring inside half-an-hour but Sardar Azmoun's equaliser looked to have salvaged a point for the Russians.

Bayern came from behind to win by the same scoreline at PSV Eindhoven.

The Eredivisie side came out confidently and took the lead through Santiago Arias but they could not contain Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland international scored a penalty, added a second from open play and also rattled the frame of the goal on three separate occasions.

Arsenal and PSG also left it late to get the job done.

The French outfit defeated Basel 2-1 when Thomas Meunier hit a technically beautiful 20-yard volley in the closing seconds.

His shot had earlier been steered home by Blaise Matuidi before Luca Zuffi produced a brilliant long-range response that dipped under the crossbar after clearing the goalkeeper.

The Swiss side had gone down to 10 men at that stage, with two late cautions for Sergey Die.

Besiktas 1 - 1 Napoli

Champions League Results

Arsenal were 2-0 down inside quarter-of-an-hour at Ludogorets, Jonathan Cafu and Claudiu Keseru on target - but Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud got the Gunners level and Mesut Ozil won it for them with two minutes to play.

Benfica moved top of Group of B, Eduardo Salvio earning a 1-0 win over Dynamo Kiev from the penalty spot.

Junior Moraes had the chance to level from the spot but Ederson made the save.

Besiktas held visiting Napoli to a 1-1 draw, Ricardo Quaresma's 79th minute penalty giving the Turkish side a lead for just three minutes before Marek Hamsik struck.

Ilkay Gundogan scored twice as Manchester City recorded a famous victory over manager Pep Guardiola's former side Barcelona.

Having lost 4-0 in the Nou Camp a fortnight ago, Lionel Messi's goal from a ruthless counter attack seemed to be setting up a familiar story at the Etihad Stadium.

But it turned into City's finest night in the competition, Gundogan steering Raheem Sterling's ball home to level before half-time and later making it 3-1 from close-range.

Kevin de Bruyne had given City the lead with a fine free-kick in the 51st minute, setting in motion the club's first ever win over Barca, who nevertheless remain two points clear at the Group C summit.

Also in City and Barca's group, Celtic salvaged a 1-1 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Lars Stindl put the Germans in front in the first half but Julian Korb received a red card and gave away a penalty with 14 minutes to go, which Moussa Dembele converted.
