A review of Wednesday's Premier League
A review of Wednesday night's Premier League action.
Gabriel Jesus scored on his full Premier League debut as Manchester City cruised to a 4-0 win at West Ham and moved level on points with Liverpool in the Premier League. Jesus set up Kevin De Bruyne for the game's opening goal in the 17th minute and after David Silva had added City's second, the £27million Brazilian teenager put City out of sight before the break. It was City's second rout of West Ham in the space of a month after their 5-0 FA Cup win on the same ground on January 6. Eldin Jakupovic was Hull's hero as the goalkeeper made a string of fine saves to keep United at bay, while the visitors went close to snatching victory in the 86th minute when recent loan signing Lazar Markovic's shot hit a post. Jakupovic, restored to the starting line-up in place of David Marshall since the arrival of head coach Marco Silva last month, kept out Paul Pogba's stoppage-time effort and also denied the Frenchman and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the first half. Everton remain five points behind United in seventh place following their 1-1 draw at Stoke. Peter Crouch's 100th Premier League goal gave Stoke an early lead, but an own goal from Ryan Shawcross before half-time earned Everton a share of the spoils.
