Transfer Window
Premier League clubs have voted to close the summer transfer window before the first game of next season.
The 2018 window will close on the Thursday before the first match of the next campaign on August 9, and the new rule applies only to the buying of players. Premier League clubs will still be able to sell players to other leagues whose transfer windows remain open later into August and September. The transfer window for the EFL also remains unaffected, with clubs able to sell to lower division sides unless they decide to bring its window in line with the top-flight. The Premier League transfer window in January remains unaffected by the impending changes. The decision to make these changes was not unanimous but was reached by a majority of the 20 Premier League clubs.
