I'm one of the muppets, he could run round the green when he knocked a long put in. A stress fracture can be a very minor injury, or a major one. I have had one, it didnt stop me playing rugby initially. There is no doubt in the world he is the best golfer. But he blamed losing the Masters this year and at least 1 major last year to his knee. In my book if you lose it is because someone is better at that time than you, not because you are injured.

there is no doubt in my mind
he was playing on it,
after a bad shot he was limping, yet when he sunk the putt to take it to a playoff he bent over and put all his weight onto his knees and was jumping around like crazy but i have heard people say that there was never anything wrong with his knee and it was all a complete act im not saying he wasnt playing on the injury abit but to say there was never even an injury is just wrong! |

Its an absolute travesty that the integrity of Woods should be called into question - especially by a fellow professional and one as well known as Retief Goosen.
It was patently clear that Woods was struggling pretty much the whole tournament - yes, there are photos of him kneeling down, and one after he made the crucial putt that took him into the play off, but with so much adrenaline pumping around his body, is it any wonder really? It was also quite noticeable that his real grimaces and attention to his knee where in the early part of his round, where it will no doubt been at its stiffest - as the round wore on and his leg loosened up a bit, his attention to it became less and less. His withdrawal from the rest of the season is such a shame - and when you consider its a Ryder Cup year also it only magnifies the loss to the events his absence would bring. No matter who wins the Open or USPGA they will be tarnished because there was no TW taking part - not their fault of course, but how anyone can question this guy when everything about him is sheer class, modesty and integrity is totally beyond me. Then, as someone has said, you look at someone like Ian Poulter, who has to wear ridiculous items of clothing to be noticed, throws tantrums around the course when his shots go astray, and eventually when +14 mid way through Round 2, claims to have a poorly wrist and withdraws. He is an embarrassment to himself and to golf. |

A friend of mine got to play a round of golf with Ian Poulter after bidding the most money in a charity day auction. Poulter was waiting for them when they arrived, even though they were early. On the 1st hole my friends shot into the green landed in the bunker. Ian Poulter not only gave him a little bit of advice, even though he plays of 5, raked the bunker for him after. All through the round he continued giving advice, raking bunkers and looking after the 3 people that had paid a significant amount of money for his company.
At the end of the round bought them a meal each, from his own pocket and stayed with them for 2 more hours. He like everyone is not always as bad as portrayed. |
