Default Heads Up Knockout Tourney

Hi All,

I am currently organising an online Heads Up single elimination knockout tournament via the Rivercard.com and wondered if anyone from here would be interested in taking part?

This is a prelude to a Heads Up League that I run, the 4th of which is coming pretty soon - again, anyone on here is invited to join Bally and myself in taking part - the standard is excellent and it creates a very healthy prize pot.....

Anyone interested please post or PM me for details!

Default Update

Have had an excellent response to this tourney from my pool of poker players, and already, including Tony and MITK from here, we have at least a dozen, with still plenty more yet to acknowledge it - and there will be plenty of people who will play, im sure.

It will be of a cracking standard, with the fun and banter element high.

Current date im proposing this for is MONDAY 14 JULY, starting at 7pm.

Tony, can you give me a status of your Rivercard account please? Is it all up and running ok now? You too please MITK?

Really hope a few more of you will fancy this challenge - Heads Up Poker is so much more intense and testing than full table games - you're involved in every hand, and every hand could be the one that wins you, or loses you, the match.

Cheers Tony, look forward to getting your details m8

Here's how the tourney will work :

To register, you need to visit the rivercard.com and click the "scheduled tournaments" tab - ideally sorting them into order by the buy in amount.

Scroll down till you find the MTS HU KNOCKOUT REGISTRATION EVENT, which is a $10 + $1 buy in. Please note this is NOT the actual event - it is just there to collect all the buy ins so that the actual games to be played on Friday night will all be freerolls.

Buy in to the event, which will close at MIDDAY ON FRIDAY JULY 11 - once you see your name appear on the registered list - you're in.

Once the registration tournament closes at midday on Friday, those will be the players who will contest the Friday night knockout tournament. I will, according to the numbers, do a totally random draw where people will play against their opponent in a sudden death, winner takes all game in order to progress to the next round.

Obviously there may be a preliminary round to get the numbers to a round figure (32, 16, 8 etc) but again any draw made will be totally random.

Once you know who you're playing, you make your way to the freeroll HU knockout tournament tables and await your opponent. Round 1, or the preliminary Round, will kick off at 7.30, and you will have 20 minutes to get your game started. The tables will be password protected, and i will inform all registered players of the password once you have registered.

Staring blinds for all games will be 3,000, with 6 minute levels, starting at 25/50.

The final will be as above, but with 6,000 starting stack, and there is a special Grand Final table, with its own password, awaiting the finalists.

Play will continue head to head as players are eliminated and/or progress. I intend for the top 4 to be paid, unless numbers are low, in which case it will be the top 2.

All announcements will be made on the forum AND via email, so please keep checking both regularly.

It should be a really good tournament and I really hope to see your name registered ASAP on the registration tournament and look forward to seeing you, and beating you, on Friday night!!!!

Any questions...you know what to do!

Captain - ive got your PM mate - thanks for that - i will pass your details on to the R/C guys and arrange for your free credit. You too Tony once I know your registration details.

Manintheknow - are you in?

Chikadee - are you still interested if i can get your registration issues sorted?

Everyone else....???????
