Default Late night cash poker....

Now cash isnt one of my chosen games but i do have the odd hour or two when bored or not sleepy...Last night after watching the Party Poker bad beats or great plays prog on c5 (Herbie your brother was on one but only folding..) i decided i wasnt tired enough for bed so onto Mansion i went for a bit of cash...

Now what suprised me at 1.30am is how many people are still up playing poker...

If you have ever played cash on Mansion you will know they have hundreds of tables all at different levals...

Anyway as usual i always look for a table where everyone has a few quid and i found a nice $1/$2 brought my $100 and off i went..

Now there was a mix of countries and cultures so play was fairly brisk and after 4 hands i had doubled up with a nice straight an ace flush and a good bluff on the river to get the other player to fold to my 10 high...

Now i then got aces and was looking for a raiser but alas that was not ment to be and everyone folded round to me......

After about an hour i was still doing quite nice even though i had had another walk with aces...when this happened...

Hole cards QKs....im under the gun so raise to $6 a couple of callers...Flop AKQ rainbow....i bet $12 one folds and the other calls.......turn 3 so i see he has about $50 left and decide to push all in.....well he calls in a heartbeat with.....pkt 7s....... i couldnt contain myself from laughing out loud at that play with those cards on the board.....This laughter didnt last long.... only till the river came one of the two 7s.....to make his trips...

I rode that blow rather well bit my lip and went back into the "war zone"....

I managed to get back to about $150 when i was delt 76 in the big blind...i checked to the flop which produced....2s 3c 7h...the first bloke bet $6 the next called so i raised to $12 hoping to take the pot there and then...but NO the first bloke folded and the second called...the turn gave us a 3d giving me two pair...i bet $25 and matey calls the river was 9c....i look to see he has $40 so push all in with my 2 pair only for him to call all his chips with bloody K9h....

Now what was he doing in there calling bets of $6 and $12 ? ok i can see his reason for the call at the end but............

With that and the time edging towards 3.45am i decided enough cash for me and went to bed about $25 down.....

"the next called so i raised to $12 hoping to take the pot there and then..."

Think you have answered your own question here.

Talking

I'll have the Poker magazine's in the post this weekend ..............
There's no accounting for what any player of any standard, might do online but as i said before, if you think your winning get your chips in If you read it wrong, OK you have another pull up, but don't give them a turn and a river card to catch up.
I've noticed this a lot online at the cash hold-em table's, players don't bet enough to take a pot down, I'm sure they don't know whether to try and keep building a pot with medium bets or call in the hope they get lucky, betting should be a way of telling other players what the intentions are or the strength of hand to a flop or you can even tell by the bet size if they are bluffing or want to see a cheap card...
However 50% think they are professional so turn the chat box OFF if you playing a serious game!!!
Also $1/$2 is a difficult level, more players there with more money than poker sense, play lower or higher ...$1/$2 is a level to avoid at hold-em...in my opinion..........

Default Thanks Benny....

Looking forward to getting them....yes think your right about tha $1/$2 level....I like to think that i have changed my game in regard to not betting enough after what ive talked about with you and Herbie about over the last couple of weeks...

Also Herbie bloke one bet $6 the K9 called then i raised.....so i know what you are saying he just called the $6 raise but why did he call my $25 bet before the turn....?

I only play "friendly" poker, I would have called you as even if I put you on 2 pair I would probably beat you if a King or 9 turned on the River as the highest card was a 7. This is how poker muppets minds work
