Default We all knew it was coming

Im quitting while im just about still ahead. Way too addictive, much like the fruit machines that i used to fill up on a regular basis years ago. Quiting them was one of the best things i did. I can see how you could go broke at bingo, most people are losing alot of money each day playing. Its pure gambling just relying on luck, i said i wouldn't do that again, hence why i play poker and sports betting. Ive managed to do both of these with no addiction so far.Trust me i know what gambling addiction feels like. Horses and poker require skill and knowledge, of course a bit of luck helps.
I knew when i started playing bingo it was a rip off but its hard to avoid the lure of winning money for doing nothing, £200 for 3 minutes watching a screen compared to maybe 4 hrs in a poker tournament using your head, hmmm.
The highs are good obviously but the lows wow they could get very bad. Fortunately i can sense when things are heading that way, ive enough experience of it in whatever form to know when to quit.
Reading the chat box on the bingo games is very revealing occasionaly i saw somebody saying they had won a grand,£500 or whatever and others are telling them to cash out quick the reply was typical, im not stopping now ive won £2k since Thursday etc. Mostly it was people saying this is my last game as no funds left bye see you all 2moro, or more often it was im due a win ive spent £90 today, or ive been playing all day and only had 1 line
Its obvious to see how much the sites are making out of these games
The final straw for me was when i spotted the mini games basically theyre fruit machines that you can play whilst watching the bingo on the same page, very clever design by the programmers So that was good night from me.
Basically i had my fun won some money, lost some money, bought a couple of things with a couple of cash outs, put too much back in again and eventually QUIT no harm done.
ps if anyone comes on and says im addicted to sports betting you can FECK RIGHT OFF
lol

Default Very good post m8.....

And everything you have said is so true...

When i was younger i used to work in the amusements and a lot of my mates were travellers whos families owned arcades.....Now i soon learnt that you would never win on the machines in the long run..

A bloke who owned some of the biggest arcades once told me.....never gamble on anything where a machine determines the result....

I remember we used to have the machines percentages changed when Easter was upon us. I used to live in Clacton On Sea which was a big seaside resort with plenty of day trippers holiday camps etc and all the machines were on about 65% payouts from Easter weekend through till about the end of September the upped to 80% throughout the winter.

I remember when they put the roulette machines into the bookies.....people were doing everything they had and i know of at least two blokes who did over 100k just on these machines.
A greek bloke i know was going to the bank on a Monday with the wekends takings....went into Corals and within five hours had done the lot...12k....

Poker maybe is a diffrent kettle of fish (nice pun) as their is a bit of skill involved unlike pushing a few buttons and hoping.

It pleases me to know when people realise they are going to end up skint if they carry on playing machines etc.....and as long as you only gamble what you can afford and its fun then things are ok.

When gambling becomes more then fun its time to give up....

I could tell you loads of stories of gamblers who have blown the lot and more all of them said if i could just have back half of what i have lost i would give up....Well we all know they wouldnt.

Hopefully POKERJOHNNY will tell us more about fruit machines as thats what he used to do.......

Good luck m8 and if you stay away from my tips im sure you will be ok...

Ive always lived in a seaside holiday town, and growing up the arcade was a place for youngsters to hang out all day and evening. I used to go there everyday to meet my mates, anytime of the day you will find at least one of your mates in there, its a small town lol. Gambling was the norm for us and i used to win a fair amount of money just by hanging around all day watching the emmits lose all there money and walk off as soon as a machine was starting to pay out. That was until there was a change in the Taxes or something (johnny will no what i mean) and that all disappeared as the percentages were altered to pay the extra tax. Many a time i could walk in with 10p and leave with enough money for a smoke and a good feed. It really was our only social place to go, we would score in there, drugs and women lol basically do everything in there. Lose all our dole money, wages, birthday christmas monies etc and it took me years to stop playing the bloody things, i had to avoid going near the place because as soon as i said oh just a pound it soon turned into a fiver and then i wouldnt leave until i was skint. We knew all the tricks, some legal some very very illegal lol having friends who worked there was very profitable aswell
Ive heard from many poker players who did the same some even as there main income years ago.
Just glad im away from there now with no interest in going in at all, well i am in my 30s lol but walking past you still see some of the old faces of all ages.

Default Looooooool

I remember we used to skive off from school and go to "The Muzzies"...

i was in there on many occasions playing the 2p machines with the hood of my Snorkell Parker pulled up only to feel the grabing of my neck by the head mistress behind me...

What followed was the long walk back to school and a few weeks of having to sit outside her office or follow her to her classes to get abused by younger kids when i had to sit down the front.....

Oh happy days........
