Default Confusion, Odds and Outs !

Confusion, Odds and Outs !

As most of you probably know me by now, my online game can fluctuate from being a clown to gambler, from playing high stake to micro and back again .

The point I'm making is, i don't tilt and i don't care !!
"Dont care your thinking" ?? Let me explain . I've played this game of poker for more years than I'd like to remember, and busted out a few times along the way but never to the point that i cant get back into the game or been in debt .

Lets not forget it's a game, yes a game to win money and to the few a game to make a living, but what sort of life is it to sit at a computer stressing to make a living ?? ~ Not for me,~ Life is too short and precious and the people I know who enjoy this game either have a job or are business people and play poker to win , but enjoy the company more !
Hence why I like a small venue like TC's Maidenhead, rather than a smelly casino these days ~ :))
(Oh before I go on I don't play cash 'hold-em',, however yes cash '7card stud' and some 'Omaha' but only play 'hold-em' in tournament's)

So for all the purists and mathematicians this wont make any sense either but I see and hear all this stuff about odds and calculating poker odds.
They believe that this failure to understand odds will greatly reduce their profits or worse not win at all.
The truth is that you don’t need to calculate poker odds to a large degree.

In any game I've ever played I haven't seen a player do complex calculations during a poker hand. I don’t, and never have !
(Most of it at the table is speech and blagging.)

Why not calculate the odds?
It’s because most poker strategy is fairly straight forward to me, old and new.
In a tournament for instance (6 handed lets say) I'm dealt 10c 9c in the BB with some small action pre-flop leaving three of us in to see the flop .
The flop comes JC 8D 2C ~ ~ So the only thing I do with math at the poker table is something like this. I reason that the pot is 1000, it costs me 300 to call and see the turn and maybe more for the river and if I do, there are 9 cards left that will make my flush, and 8 to make a straight, meaning 17 outs of 46 unknown cards.

So, that’s 29 cards that will miss for me against 17 that will hit, and two cards still to come on the turn and river, so in theory and practice I'll miss 7 times on the turn but hit 4 times, and the same on the river 7 miss and 4 hit, or to be more precise a 7/4 against winning gamble for a 100/30 odds pot !

Of course so many other factors are relevant like chip stacks big or small, what action if any and at what stage the tournament is at . But in the main I'm playing this hand aggressively and as I said before, I don't care because I don't tilt, or play out of my comfort zone.
(well not often anyways) ( '',)

Also "confusion" is my friend, unconventional and definitely none of the 2bet/3 bet for me, I either bet or call , hardly ever re- raise with a monster but will try and value/price in a bet that wont lose my customer ??
(I used to sell double glazing you know) ( '',)

If players have notes or think they know how I or you play, then it's worth remembering that they don't know what state of mind we could be in, skint or flush, aggressive or passive, I'm afraid of no one but respect everyone ..
You wont find me in any 'all-stars' game, but I'll always be in the game ..

The game is "Poker", the weapon is "Confusion" !!
